The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. These include both competitive and recreational sports groups, special interest groups, academic societies and some that we are unable to categorise! Legends and The Lounge are the Union's Beaconside campus venues. The Lounge is a recently refurbished, stylish bar serving great food and coffee as well as the traditional bar refreshments seven days a week. I joined Staffs SU in 2009 and moved to become Student Activities Co-ordinator in 2010. I studied Broadcast Journalism at Staffs and graduated in the summer of '09, so I know the university and union well!
As well as being involved in the Activities department, I've also got a keen interest in the student media - so make sure you check out One Media Group!
Alongside Michelle in Stafford, I support clubs and societies in all manner of areas related to getting involved and running a group - everything from helping groups to start up, advising on fundraising/health and safety/finance/anything else that crops up, and encouraging students to 'give it a go' with our one off activities.
I'm also the Event Director for Hanley parkrun, which is a 5km run that takes place every Saturday at 9am in Hanley Park. Make sure you check out their website for more details!
