The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. Legends and The Lounge are the Union's Beaconside campus venues. The Lounge is a recently refurbished, stylish bar serving great food and coffee as well as the traditional bar refreshments seven days a week. This award was established in memory of the former Associate Dean of Sport Health & Exercise. His death in early 1999 was a loss to all involved in sport at Staffordshire University. Basil’s commitment to sport was unsurpassed and was evident throughout his 35 years at this institution.
This trophy is presented annually to an individual who has achieved outstanding sporting success whilst representing the University this academic year. You may nominate any sports club member representing Staffordshire University.
This award was established in 1990 in memory of Stuart Boon, whose commitment, enthusiasm and dedication was instrumental in the development of sport at Staffordshire University. Stuart's passion for sport, his leadership and guidance were rewarded in 1981 with the development of the Sir Stanley Matthews Sport Centre.
This award is presented to one student each year for their outstanding contribution and commitment to Student Activities while being at the University. You may nominate any club or society member representing Staffordshire University.
