Let battle commence - Wednesday 7 March 2012!

Varsity 2012 Information

A Varsity match is a sports fixture played between rival Universities. One of the best known Varsity contests is the annual Oxford versus Cambridge boat race which is surrounded by hype and tradition.

With Keele University only 5 minutes up the road we didn’t really need to look far for an arch rival that would generate a level of passion and competition befitting to our students. And so in 2007 the Staffs versus Keele Varsity began.

We have since gone head to head with Keele on four occasions in what started as a small, 5 sport competition - but that's no longer the case!

This year Varsity will be held at Keele University - click on the links below for more information.

Transport

Travelling to Keele University is simple from Staffordshire University - the number 25 bus runs from College Road straight into Keele's campus.

There are some car parking spaces at Keele - however, there is a charge for parking, and it is maintained by an external security company. We cannot accept responsibility for anyone incurring a fine as a result of incorrect or inconsiderate parking.

Because of the limited space, we strongly recommend you use public transport if you wish to attend daytime matches.

A coach will be available from Keele's campus to Newcastle Town FC, which will be leaving at 17:30 and 18:15.

Spaces on the coaches will be on a first come, first served basis. If you cannot find space, then you will have to make your own way to Newcastle Town FC.

Coaches will also be available after the match, with pick up at the top of the ground.

There is a strict no alcohol policy through the turnstiles at the Aspire Stadium. All alcohol consumed within the stadium must be purchased from licensed bars within the ground.

A zero tolerance will be taken with any persons failing to comply and individuals will be removed from the ground and may face prosecution.
