Extra Activities Funding

There is extra funding available from the Student Activities department - in order for you to develop your club or society, by putting on extra events or attending courses, or for you to represent the University at a national or international level.

Activities Development Fund

The Activities Development Fund is a discretionary fund available to clubs, societies or other student led groups that require help with either the development of existing projects,  establishing new projects, or developing their group through courses.

Applications for projects costing up to £500 can be considered, and the usual funding terms are 50% Union funding, 50% funded by the individual, the  Club/Society or external sponsorship, although this is decided on a case-by-case basis.

Where you are applying for funding for a course, we recommend to put through students who will be with the group for over a year from the date of the course in order to gain the maximum benefit for your members.

To apply for ADF download the full guidance notes and project application form or course application form, attaching full information about costs to your application. Applications will not be processed without full information of costs, including quotes.

Activities Representation Fund

The Activities Representation Fund is a discretionary fund formed by annual contributions from both the University and the Students' Union. It recognises the sporting and cultural success of teams and individuals, and aims to support this on a discretionary basis wherever possible.

The fund may support students with costs such as entry fees, transport, accommodation, and fees to officials, where no other sponsorship is available. Food, clothing and other personal costs are exempt. No assistance will be given for activities that take place at the usual level year in, year out, and where no specific selection process has taken place.
