The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

Legends and The Lounge are the Union's Beaconside campus venues. Recognised Clubs and Societies are eligible to book the sports facilities that are available here at Staffs for one off sessions or block bookings during term time (subject to availability).
Please contact Beaconside Sports Centre or Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre to enquire about availability and cost of the facility in question
Once you have chosen a suitable date & time then complete a booking form below and email it to your key staff member.
You will receive confirmation of your booking via email from a Sports Centre Staff member within 5 working days. Please ensure plenty of notice is given should you need to cancel your booking.
If there is a charge to use the facility, then please ensure that this is authorised to come from the club or society accounts by at least two of the signatories for the accounts. An invoice will then be sent to the Activities department and the cost deducted from your accounts. If the cost of facility hire is not to be paid from your account, then please ensure it is paid directly to the Sports Centre.
