The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. These include both competitive and recreational sports groups, special interest groups, academic societies and some that we are unable to categorise! Legends and The Lounge are the Union's Beaconside campus venues. The Lounge is a recently refurbished, stylish bar serving great food and coffee as well as the traditional bar refreshments seven days a week. As a Students' Union affliated group, you can book rooms in our building and in the University as well.
The Students' Union has several rooms & venues that can be booked by student groups - contact your key staff member. To guarantee being able to book either the boardroom or an alternative University room, please give us at least 3 working days notice that you wish to book. If the booking is for within 3 working days then we may not be able to book a room for you..
At both the Stoke & Stafford Campus there is a Student Activities Space which is open access to students, 9am-8pm on weekdays during term time and can be used for informal meetings or larger events (by prior arrangement).
We also have a boardroom that can accomodate 25-30 people and which is bookable for meetings, training, etc.
You can also book our licenced venues (Verve & LRV in Stoke and Legends & The Lounge in Stafford) which can be booked for larger fundraising & social events. If you'd like to use one of our venues, please read our "How to run an event" section.
To make a booking, you need to complete a Room Booking Form & email it to your key staff member. They will forward it on to the University to make your booking. Please send this form through at least 3 working days before the booking you wish to make, as any shorter notice will mean we are unlikely to be able to make the booking.You should receive confirmation of your email and further details about your booking within 5 working days.
You will need to read the University's Code of Practice on Freedom of Speech and Lawful Assembly and ensure that your event does not contravene this document.
