The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. The Student Advice Centre (SAC) offers confidential and impartial advice on a variety of issues, such as: student finance, academic affairs, student housing, debt management etc. In addition, there are a number of online self help materials which you can access from the Advice Guide.Find out more...

SubTV is available on the screens in our Union Venues and can be used to advertise your group and events that you put on.
Produce the image you wish to be used on SubTV, and ensure it meets the SubTV specification - we cannot alter the specification as it is built into the system, so if the image you send in does not meet these guidelines then we will not be able to use it.
Send the image to your site-specific Activities Co-ordinator, at least a week before you would like to see the image on the screens. They will then look over the image, and if it is approved then they will pass it on to the Union Marketing team to be put on SubTV.
If the image is not approved then your site-specific Activities Co-ordinator will be in touch to explain why.
Please bear in mind that there can be a high demand for use of SubTV - it is the Union Marketing Team's final decision as to whether or not an image will be used, and how long it will stay visible for.
Please ensure your image follows the SubTV specification - we cannot accept it if it does not fit within the specification.
Bear in mind that small text can be nearly illegible when viewed on the screens - keep information short, simple, and catchy.
If you have a specific timeframe within which you would like the image displayed then please let us know - we cannot guarantee this, but where possible we will try and organise so it is visible then.
