The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.
Staffordshire University Students’ Union is a democratic organisation, working entirely for the benefit of students.

We hope your stay at Staffordshire University is a pleasant one and devoid of incident! Here is some information to help you keep it that way.
Beware - local criminals actively target students.
Students have many items of value that are attractive to thieves: laptops, mobile phones, ipods and wallets. Men are more likely to be victims of street crime than women, but everyone should take precautions.
Students are vulnerable to crime, especially after a night out if they have been drinking. Street criminals will see this as the ideal chance to catch their victim unawares.
Protect yourself during the day; keep mobile phones and ipods concealed. Otherwise thieves can see that you have something worth stealing. When you go out, keep your bag zipped up and only take items you need out with you. Be aware of your surroundings and think about your route especially if you are on your own.
Protect yourself at night. When out in pubs and bars never leave your phone or handbag unattended even for a few seconds. Avoid using cash dispensers after dark or in isolated places. Don’t carry too much cash – only take out with you what you need. Always use safe transport to get home and never walk home alone
Regretably, some students will become the victims of crime. Should this happen to you, confidential and impartial advice is available from the Student Advice Centre.
