The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.
Staffordshire University Students’ Union is a democratic organisation, working entirely for the benefit of students.
The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. If you are running as a candidate in the Leadership Race 2012 it is recommended that you attend a Student Council meeting before/whilst you are running. This will help you understand what would be expected of you as a representative of the Students' Union.
As mentioned above there will be times where the four outgoing officers will be out and about talking to students about the Leadership Race. This is one of the many opportunities to talk to them about the roles available. There are also Drop In's available with these officers so you can ask them what it's like being an officer and for advice on your campaign.
The outgoing officers will also be running Campaign Training sessions in Stafford and Stoke to talk about running successful campaigns and pass on their experience. If you cannot attend one of these sessions you can always go to a Drop In or track the officers down whilst they are out and about.
