Student Trustee (4 places)

There are four Student Trustee positions up for grabs. These individuals share the trustee responsibility with the Full-Time Officers, but volunteer alongside their studies. They also sit on the Students' Union Board of Trustees as a trustee of the organisation, which is responsible for the Union's budget, strategy and governance.

Due to being a charity, it is now necessary that Student Trustees are not employed by the Students' Union when taking up the position.

Student Councillor (12 places)

There are currently twelve Student Councillor positions which form the Student Council. They direct the work of the Full-Time Officers, Student Trustees and the Union as a whole; provide input on the issues affecting students and intitate policy on behalf of the membership.

Student Council meet monthly to discuss matters arising and act on student feedback such as the demand for a 24/7 library service, which was subsequently implemented by the University.

NUS Delegate (3 places)

The Students' Union sends students to the NUS National Conference, they are known as NUS Delegates. This is an important event where delegates can submit and vote on NUS policy.

There are three NUS Delegate positions avaiable and you may run for one of these positions alongside running for any other position.

Full-Time Officer (5 places)

There are five Full-Time Officers who take a year to lead the Students' Union as their full time job. As a Full-Time Officer you are also a Trustee of the SU and are responsible in law for the operation of the Union, with oversight of the Union's operations and membership.

Full-Time Officers will start training in July and a two week handover period with the outgoing officers, ready to take office from 1st August 2012.
