Welcome to Staffordshire University Students' Union

Intenational Students Workshop

Wednesday 24 March 2010 ~ 2pm - 3pm

An Immigration Law Workshop has been delivered by Vincent Fox, an Immigration Solicitor, since the start of the academic year 2009-10 and has been well received by all who attended.  In addition to private practice, Vincent has worked for the UK Border Agency and local Government exclusively in immigration and related issues.  Vincent is also actively involved in humanitarian work as well as issues concerning human rights.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide general information about the issues facing International Students.  The sessions are informal and structured in a way to provide attendees with access to information about Immigration issues and help them locate and identify relevant law and procedure within the UK Border Agency website.  Attendees are guided through the website and shown where to find relevant information, law, official policy, guidance, application forms and other useful information.  General advice is also given to attendees to help identify future application types and options.

If you have an area of particular interest, please feel free to let the Students' Advice Centre, well in advance and Vincent will do his best to cover that topic in the workshop.  This offer is restricted to general areas of interest and legal advice on specific issues cannot be given at the workshops.

The workshops for the rest of the academic year are Wednesday 24 February, Wednesday 24 March, Wednesday 21 April, Wednesday 26 May and Wednesday 30 June.  The event is held from 2pm to 3pm on each date.
