I've enrolled online how do I activate my account on the website?

  • If you are a student at Staffordshire University, who has enrolled online, you will automatically have an account on Staffsunion.com waiting to be activated. However, you still need to confirm that you want a LIVE account.
  •
To activate your account you need simply to go to the"create new account" section for "Staffordshire Students"

Enter the details requested and choose yourself a password.

A confirmation email with an activation link will then be sent to your University email account which MUST be followed for your account to be active.

I've set up a guest account on the website but have now enrolled as a student, do I need to create a new student account?

If you set up a guest account, but have now enrolled as a student, the system will have recognised this and changed your academic details, you will therefore no longer be considered a guest but a student. You DO NOT need to create a new student account. Your username and password will remain the ones you set up as a guest, however the email address any information or password reset goes to will be your University account.

I've enrolled online but my details (password, username) are not being recognised on the website, what shall I do?

This may be because you have not allowed the Union to have information about you. At some point in the registration process with the University a data protection box has been pressed which has told the University NOT to pass on personal details to the Union. This is often done unintentionally but is quite easily fixed. If you go back to 'my portal' at www.staffs.ac.uk and go to your student records where you can edit 'who may receive my data' - you can then check the box that says that you are happy for your details to be given to the Students' Union. Your details will come to us overnight - your problem with the Students' Union website should be resolved therefore the day after you change that option.
