The Student Advice Centre (SAC) will be tailoring its service better in Stoke to meet students' needs.

Following research undertaken earlier in 2011, it became clear that students wanted more flexibility of when drop-in appointments were available, wanted the Advice Centre to be open over lunch times and wanted it open earlier than the current 10am.

In response, the SAC is changing its service to hopefully meet students' expectations better. Rather than the current system of appointments in the morning and drop-ins in the afternoon (Stafford already enjoys a mix of the two throughout the day), Stoke's SAC will allow a mix to be available throughout the day.

The opening times for Stoke's SAC will also change to 9am-4pm, from the current 10am-4pm, and will be open for the entirety, rather than closing down for lunch as it does currently.

Stafford students already enjoy a more flexible service, but the SAC on both campuses is constantly looking at ways of making the service more convenient for students.

Your Education and Welfare Officer, Kim Hargreaves, said: "It's very important to constantly listen to our student customers and enact changes they identify to make our services more appealing to them.

"The Student Advice Centre offers an invaluable service to students at both Stoke and Stafford and we constantly strive to keep it at the highest quality."

The changes in Stoke take effect from 1 July. For more information about the Student Advice Centre, go to: http://www.staffsunion.com/advice/studentadvicecentre/
