On Friday 21st November 2014 between 18:00 and 22:00, Staffordshire University is blacking out! Every light, computer and outlet will be turned off for the entire weekend – making a huge energy saving and a huge difference to our impact on the environment.

Do you have the confidence to turn off devices and lights that have been left on, even those in somebody’s office?
Do you want to work in a small team but make a huge impact?

If you answered yes to any of the above then this is an ideal opportunity for you!
What is expected of me?
You’ll be completing a simple audit of the University premises with your team-mates, ensuring that the University is well and truly blacked out.
You will have to attend a 1 hour training session on the 4th November, if you cannot make this date let us know so we can arrnage another for you.
What’s in this for me?
Most importantly you’ll be making Staffordshire University a responsible and environmentally friendly place to study and work. Although you might think turning off lights and computers is a simple thing to do, it’s essential in preserving the environment – small steps make a huge impact.
You’ll also be earning come great CV brownie points, gaining experience in environmental auditing, team work and taking part in a bespoke training session with NUS. You can also earn valuable volunteering hours that you can use on your CV and for Staffordshire Graduate Employability Modules too!
Pizza will be available to all participants afterwards and super-warm hoodies awarded to the first 10 to sign up! (Ideal with winter just around the corner!)
