One area of Leek Road Car Park will be cordoned off tomorrow for one week.
On Wednesday 19th March 2014 a mobile fire demonstration will take place in the far top corner of the Leek Road Campus car park in the vicinity behind the Crime Scene House near the allotments. The demonstration is for Level 4 Forensic and Crime Science students to appreciate for themselves the danger of the rapid spread and destructive force of fire in a bedroom murder scene scenario, and also what evidence types may survive the intense heat of the fire that may lead fire investigators to determine its causation and possibly the identity of the perpetrator(s) if a crime had been committed.
This will mean that the top section of the car park will be cordoned off on Tuesday evening 18th March to allow the mobile unit to be set up and for students to view the demonstration safely. The fire demonstration is likely to finish by 4pm on the 19th March and the locked unit will remain on site for one week.
Whilst we appreciate that this may add to concerns over car parking we ask students to be patient during this time as the demonstration will be of huge benefit to our Level 4 Forensic and Crime Science students.
