It has been a couple of weeks since there was an officer update and it has been a fairly busy time for the officer team as we edge closer and closer to the start of the new term.
Since my last update I have had a week off, Beth has volunteered down at the Olympics, Rich has been in various planning meetings and Rochelle and myself have been to Lancaster for the NUS Lead and Change training session which was one of the most intense four days I have ever had with 9am starts and post 9pm finishes.
Normality resumes this week.
Monday morning will see all four officers in the office together for the first time since July 27th which seems a long time ago so myself, Beth and Rochelle will all be catching up with emails when we can in between various meetings.
All the officers are meeting with our advice team and a member of the Union’s student staff looking at welfare based events on a Wednesday afternoon. Beth and myself will be meeting with ilovetour who provided Sports based tours to several of our clubs and societies last year. We end the day meeting our marketing team to plan the campaigns that the Students’ Union will be running next year.
On Tuesday the activities team will be meeting with all four of us to talk about Involved and how we can contribute towards engaging students and the local community into the scheme.
Wednesday we will all be heading to Liverpool Students’ Union to have the second of the collaborative training sessions with five our Officer teams. This session focuses on Non-Engaged students.
On Thursday and Friday Rich, Beth and Rochelle have various strategic meetings while I will be heading to Leeds University for some Unipol Housing training. Student housing is one of the main focuses for this team and this training should give me an idea on how to approach some of the initial ideas that we have had.
Have a good week.
