We spoke to about 250 students across the Stafford and Stoke campuses during National Student Money Week (9th – 13th February) through our events, and even more through our online posts.
Students took part in quizzes to test their relationship with money, and to get a free rose. Results showed that most students surveyed were ‘planners’ when it comes to looking after their money. This means they have clear financial goals and know the values of keeping to a budget.
We aimed to encourage students about shopping on a budget by asking them to take part in the Jaffa Cake taste debate, and surprisingly only a handful of students guessed the more expensive brand correctly.
Louise and Yash our Student Officers tried living off £3 a day, you can watch how they got on:

Congratulations to the week’s competition winners who will be receiving a copy of the ‘Save with Jamie Cookbook’ or a voucher for a meal in one of our outlets.
We’re live to the fact that for a lot of students money is an issue all year round, not just for one week, so we want to remind you that we’re here to help though our Student Advice Centre.
You can get more information at http://www.staffsunion.com/advice/money/ through our online finance guides, or by using the online chat ‘live chat’ function at the bottom right to speak directly to one of our advisors.
