The Sports Hall at Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre has been closed due to a loose light fitting.
For the safety of all students, staff and members of the public that use the Sports Hall, the decision was taken to close it to prevent injury or further damage.
The Sports Centre has already had an electrician out to assess the damage and is awaiting further equipment before the light fitting can be examined and the problem fixed.
At this time there has been no date set for the reopening of the Sports Hall, but the Union will let you know as soon as a date is confirmed.
Until that time, the gymnasium and activities room are still available for use as normal and the Sports Centre will operate as usual.
