With Varsity 2010 almost upon us, there is a new sport for Staffs to get stuck into.

The men’s volleyball team has been going from strength to strength, and will be looking to put a point on the board for us against Keele when the sporting highlight of the year comes around again.

Captain Lee Grocott is confident his side has what it takes to continue their success: “The team has played some fantastic volleyball over the season.

“Everyone has connected as a group and we all have a great laugh, which has helped create a brilliant atmosphere at training.

“This helps us to really work well as a unit on court – our big hitters and good back court skills provide us with a winning formula.”

Staffs are currently unbeaten in most competitions, including the Student National Cup Qualifiers, the BUCS League and the BUCS Cup.

With a packed day of sporting action in store on March 10, Staffs will be looking to secure at least eight victories from the 15 scheduled events to retain the Varsity shield.
