Financial Ombudsman Service

Are you unhappy with your Bank, Building Society, Finance Firm or Insurance Company? Are you unsure how to complain or who to complain to?

Have you already complained to your Bank, Building Society, Finance Firm or Insurance Company? Are you unhappy with their response? Have you not received a response within 8 weeks of complaining to them?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, you may want to contact the Financial Services Ombudsman. See  http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm They are able to give you the contact details of the person to complain to at your Bank, Building Society, Finance Firm or Insurance Company (they are also happy to phone them on your behalf and tell them you have a complaint) and can advise you if it's worth you taking your complaint to the Ombudsman and how to go about doing this.

Their Consumer Helpline number is 0845 080 1800 or 0300 123 9 123 (office hours) or you can e-mail them on complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

Also, check out Ombudsman News for further details of recent cases they've become involved with and made decisions on: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/ombudsman.htm
