The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students' Union sponsors and supports a diverse range of student-run groups. Legends and The Lounge are the Union's Beaconside campus venues. The Lounge is a recently refurbished, stylish bar serving great food and coffee as well as the traditional bar refreshments seven days a week. Hello everyone we are the Staffordshire University Students' Union Officer Team.
This year, in line with our commitment to community cohesion, the Union has been given the chance to give back to the local people here in Shelton by the renovation of a room in The Lodge, Hanley Park.
This beautiful house currently stands semi-disused and is unfulfilling its potential as what we at the Union believe can be a fun and safe space which can be open to the local people. The space includes two medium sized adjoining rooms with a small kitchen in the middle, our plan is to turn this space into a clean and vibrant area for use by community groups and individuals.
This is the part where we ask for your help...
We currently have a very small budget of £500 from our own funding and six officers working for free for three days, however this will not go far, so anything you can do will be greatly appreciated. We are specifically looking for the following :
Any Volunteer workmen/women/ labourers to help us with structural and decorating work.
Artists, creative types to help decorate.
Individuals and local businesses who would be willing to donate things such as carpets, sofas, paint, rugs, kitchen fittings/equipment, curtains and soft furnishings.
Donations of electrical equipment such as kettles, extension plugs, toasters, tvs, cd players, cds, dvds, dvd players, computers, games etc..
Good quality toys, children's games, things to keep kids happy on rainy days.
We have a very tight timescale, we will be doing the work on the 24th – 26th of August so don't be shy.
We need anyone, any age, any ability who fancies a good laugh and putting something back into the community!
