Everyone's welcome, never even touched a disc before?

DOESN'T MATTER, WE'LL TEACH YOU, See you there!

Ultimate was developed in 1968 by a group of students at Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. The first official rules of the game were recorded in 1970. One of the fastest growing sports in the world, Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men, women, boys and girls.

Indoor Ultimate Frisbee is played with 5 players per team in a standard sports hall, with an endzone at each end. The objective of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponent's end zone. When in possession of the disc, the player must stop running but can pivot and pass to any other player. The player with the disc has 8 seconds in possession before they HAVE to make a throw.

Just like basketball, Ultimate is a transition game in which pllayers move quickly from offense to defense on turnovers that occur with a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught holding the disc for more than ten seconds.

Ultimate is one of the only sports that offers 'mixed' teams and this often effects the attitudes of the team positively. The game is played at Regional and National level in the UK as well as University and 'open' tournaments held regularly across the academic year. (It can also be played on the beach and outside!)

Although Ultimate resembles many traditional sports in its basic athletic requirements, the rules are simpler which allows the game to be self-officiated. The concept of “Spirit of the Game” (basically good sportsmanship and a spirit of fair play) is integrated into the basic philosophy of the sport, is written into the rules, and is practiced at all levels of the game from small leagues to the World Games.

So why not come try and try it out?
