Union Council

What is the Students' Union Council?

The Students’ Union Council is the governing body of the Students' Union. It is composed entirely of elected and co-opted students and meets monthly to determine Union policy.

You are welcome to attend and, if you wish, speak at Council meetings which take place at Stafford and Stoke alternately.  The dates and agenda are available here.

What does Students' Union Council do?

The Students' Union Council is one of the most important aspects of the Students Union. It exists to discuss policy, create direction, review budgets and primarily to represent the Union's 16,000 members ensuring that your issues and concerns are being addressed.

Council has many positions availble to represent everyone, including special interest and minority groups. Each faculty also has programme/course representatives to hold the University to account on issues affecting individual courses.

If you are interested in one of these vacant Part-Time Officer positions, please speak to any existing Officer.  Vacant positions are up for grabs during the November by-elections, and all positions are available for election in March.
