James Deacon

Slate: VIVA STAFFS!

Hi my name is James Deacon; I’ve been involved in grass-root campaigning during my first year at Staffs and I’ve worked with Campaigns Collective to help all sorts of campaigns get off the ground and am not afraid to voice my opinion and fight for students rights. I feel that AMD has been marginalised by the University and other students alike and wish to represent AMD interests at Student Council fully and with aptitude.

AMD is a department that is made of up everyone from Fine Art students to Journalism students and I care about the welfare of everyone studying in AMD. I will work really hard to make sure that all of these AMD issues are heard and that they are all considered and worked towards appropriately. I want to make sure that certain courses in AMD using the money wisely and work hard to make students aware what options are available for them

Everyone in AMD whether Photography, Drama or English know that at the end of their course it’s going be hard to find a job; it’s also really expensive to study because of the amount of course materials to buy.

I will campaign for:

• Help for students to get more variety for work placements
• Access funding to specialist AMD Money Doctors advice
• Free and better printing for AMD students
• A FREE Cash point at the LRV
• Free use of Union Venues by Clubs, Societies and Students
• To bring together Stafford and Stoke students who study Media related Courses
• Cheaper DV tapes and AMD equipment in Union Shops

I will work to make these issues heard and fight for the rights of AMD Students

Vote #1 James Deacon for AMD REP
