Charley Hasted

Slate: Dan and Charley
My name is Charley Hasted, I'm a 3rd year Law student, and I'm asking you to vote for me as your Education and Welfare Officer. I have worked hard Education and welfare issues at Staffs having been LGBT Officer for the last two years and a Student Academic Rep the year before. I have worked on policy covering a variety of areas and will continue to do so.
A vote for me is a vote for experience and dedication. I have worked tirelessly to improve things for Staffs Students and others. I have worked with Disabled people, LGBT people, Further and Higher Education Students and others to make sure our issues are represented. I have experience representing diverse groups of people on a local, national and even international level and now I want to represent you. In 2009 as LGBT Officer I led the LGBT Society from virtual non-existence to being awarded a special commendation at the National NUS LGBT Awards, those same awards saw us short-listed for campaign of the year and myself short-listed for campaigner of the year.
Vote for me and I will put your issues on the agenda:-
  • Work with the Uni, SAC and Keele Union to improve the list of accredited landlords and make sure bad landlords aren't allowed on our list.
  • Campaign against Fees and Cuts – The government has money spare to bail out banks but won't adequately fund our education. Does that seem right to you?
  • Continue the campaign for a free bus service between Stoke and Staffordshire
  • Campaign to make sure those of you with jobs know your employment rights, and encourage students to join Unions where that is the best way to protect your rights.
  • Work with Faculty Reps and Student reps to make sure I know what your issues are as soon as possible so I can start working to resolve them quickly whether you're on a main campus or not I will do my best for you

PUT YOUR ISSUES FIRST AND VOTE ME NUMBER 1
