Slate: VIVA STAFFS!
Hi, I am your current Executive Officer (Non-portfolio), NUS delegate, Quality & development committee representative and NUS PG taught committee member. Since my tenure as a part time officer, I have gained many skills & experience due to participation in the union council, activist academy workshops, NUS events & conferences. I am involved in students activities, policy matters at national level and running workshop sessions at NUS forums, while also bringing student issues to Union Council and working with the University administration to deal with Student problems. I am standing for Education & Welfare Officer in the 2010 Election to increase student’s interests and democracy. I hope to work with the full time officers to give Staffs University a better global reputation.

My contribution for students academic and welfare activities have always been appreciated by staff and students. If elected I will campaign, support and push the following issues as well as other issues raised by students:

  • To improve the student experience and their expectations from university, with independent student feedback and suggestions for all academic and welfare issues.
  • Raise issues of quality of teaching and research activities and lack of competitive practical opportunities to improve student’s industrial or professional based experience.
  • Enforce university administration to arrange free bus service, a form of concession or term pass, to put some of the University money back to the students interests.
  • Arrange events for awareness and mutual understanding of British culture and respect. We need a more diversified union to involve all community students with their cultural and religious respect.
  • Campaign for free education and financial support, so that it’s a less of a worry.
Campaign for international consultants who misguide international students and pretend 100% guarantee industrial placement for the sake of profit. to stop giving them profit to bring students and university should improve their industrial contacts and links to give more opportunities to student’s practical learning experiences.
