The Students’ Union is run by students for students – that means we’re completely dedicated to representing students at Staffs and helping provide what they want from their student experience. That covers everything from advice and support, great venues and events to representation, sports clubs, activities and even a dedicated student media service.
We’re constantly striving to ensure the best possible experience for all students at Staffs and free membership of the Students’ Union is automatic on enrolling at Staffordshire University. That means our students get to have their say in what we do and how we do it.

The Students’ Union forms an integral part of the university infrastructure, acting as an independent body solely for the benefit of the students. The Union acts as a bridge between the students and the management encompassing issues regarding students.
I plan to reinforce communication between the students and the union at all levels whereby the students will have access to the union regarding any of their issues. I will aim at improving the awareness of current and future students on student association and the union. I would like to make more and more students aware of the decisions taken by the elected officers and representatives. I will also address another core problem regarding international students. Most of the international students have a problem communicating properly with the teachers and as a result their studies suffer. Proper translators will be provided so that this problem does not arise.
As a communication officer my aim would be to bring about transparency. The students would be given the opportunity to question the decisions taken by the student representatives.
