Now more than ever we need more and more qualifications in order to get the job we want. When we started University, sometimes more often than not we need a post graduate qualification.

For law, teaching and other students its essential to take another course after their degree and for lots of students they just fancied staying on a bit longer, maybe doing more of what they love or coming back to the University to do something new after completing a degree a while ago.

I want to work with postgraduate students to get you a fair deal. This year a lot of work has been started, but it isn’t enough, we need to do more.

We need to make sure that post graduate students are involved in their university and get a voice. At the moment not enough is done about their debt and there isn’t sufficient support available for those wanting to stay on at University. We need to campaign to end fees. Locally I will make sure that we address the issues of students who are undertaking post graduate study. For far too long you have been left out; now it’s time to make sure that we build on some of the work that has been done by others who are working with me. Things like free printing on campus, getting more cash machines, raising awareness of support that is available and making sure that all students at our university get a voice.

If elected I promise to be your voice on union council standing up for the interests of post graduate students.
