Candidate for Education & Welfare Officer

Hello. You may know us, we’re your current Officers. We’ve done it for a year, we know & trust each other and what we’re doing. You won’t have to wait for us to settle in before we start delivering results for you. We’ve got the contacts, we’ve got the inside knowledge and no one else has got that experience.

The list of things we’ve achieved for you in the eight months we’ve been working for you is too big to fit in this manifesto (but it’s online at VoteStaffs.co.uk), but you’ve got an awful lot to look forward to if you vote for us again and, of course, as it’s us, you know that they’ll happen and they’re not just empty promises.

A small selection of the best include:

·         We’ve got the Libraries open 24 hours per day.

·         Organised the fastest-selling Summer Ball EVER.

·         Opened & developed the new social space in Stafford.

By voting for us again, you’re voting for trained professionals, not wannabes who’ve got to learn the ropes all over again. We’re united, we work well together and don’t waste time bickering with one another.

In our next year in office, we promise to:

·         Redevelop Legends nightclub in Stafford.

·         Get all timetables released earlier

·         Reduce the waiting time for food in Ember Lounge.

Hi I’m Vanessa and I’m running to be your education and welfare officer of 09-10. For the last few months I have been involved in the union being the female gender representative. I am very passionate about working to ensure that the welfare of all students comes first from a university and union viewpoint.

 I want the education of all students to be the same no matter what faculty you are with and irrelevant of personal background and circumstances. We all deserve the right to a fair and equal education from our university and I want to work with all students to achieve this. If elected I will work to ensure that you are getting value for money, feel safe in and around your campus, and that your voices are heard. If you want an education and welfare officer that cares about you, the student and has passion for your union then
