Referenda

What are Referenda?

A referendum is your way of having a direct input into the decisions made by the Students' Union, by casting your vote on a big decision. Referenda are the highest authority in the entire Union.

A referendum could be either a question to answer, or a policy/motion to adopt. It can be submitted either through the Students' Union Council, or by a student member (with the support of 50 other students). The question is put to the entire membership to answer, and could completely change the way the the Union runs.

Recent Referendum

A vote of no confidence in the President was held 9-11th February. The motion for the vote of no confidence failed to obtain a two-thirds majority and therefore fell. The President now remains in office until the end of his term.
