Welcome to Staffordshire University Students' Union

Your Union

What is your Students' Union?

The Students’ Union is a member led organisation that strives for the best experience for students. The Union is here to represent and support you as well as offer great social spaces for you to enjoy.

The Union is a non-profit making organisation and makes it's money from commercial services and a grant from the university. It uses its' money to, maintain student activities, re-invest into its' services, provide bigger and better student opportunities and regenerate the union as a whole.

Who's speaking for you?

We are here to represent you, whether to the University, the Council, the Government, community groups or the media and provide you with a range of services to make studying a little easier and a bit more fun. We do this through elected officers running campaigns, attending meetings or lobbying key people to get results for students. Academic reps also play a key role in representing student issues at a faculty level. If you want to know more about campaigns click here or if you fancy becoming an academic rep then go here.

Be a part of your Union...

It's easy to get involved in the Union, every student is encouraged to attend meetings of Students' Union Council. As the student body you also decide who runs the Union in cross campus elections for Union Officers. Any student is eligible to stand for all student posts within the Union, so why not have a go? Or failing that make sure you use your vote. To find out more, read our elections section.

Useful documents and policies

Student representation is also an important part of the overall student experience. It ensures that students’ opinions contribute significantly towards influencing what we do as a Union. The Union holds a set policy to govern how it should run and the ethics it believes in and holds true. You can view these in our policy section.
