igned for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and
is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller\, low risk wor
king environments.

\n\nWhat you will learn?
\n\nThe content of this course provides basic life saving first aid an
d workplace health and safety regulations\, covering the following:

\n\n - Roles and responsibilities of a first aide
r
\n - Assessing an incident
\n - Managing an unresponsive ca
sualty
\n - CPR
\n - Recovery Position
\n - Choking
\n - Seizures
\n - Shock
\n - Wounds and bleeding

li>Minor injuries\n - Cuts\, grazes and bruises
\n - Minor b
urns and scalds
\n

\n\nCourse duration
\n\nOne day (6 hours).

\n\nAssessment
\n\
nWritten assessment and continuous observation by the trainer.

Candidates need a basic command of English. So whilst we are often abl
e to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a f
irst language\, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and
the number of people who require assistance\, although we may be able to
make special arrangements if requested in advance. \;

\n\nSuccessful candidates will receiv
e a \;certificate which is valid for three years. \;

subsidised by the Students'\; Union to enable students to attend at a
very low cost. After making a booking\, if you no longer wish to attend
then please cancel your place by 4pm the day prior to the course. Cancell
ations after this time will mean that you will be charged for the full co
