Pollution is the theme that links together the research of Prof Claire Gwinnett and Prof J on Fairburn. Claire has carried out word leading research into plastic po llution into our seas and oceans. This research has taken her from the Hu dson River in the United States to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.\n\n
Jon has been carrying out research for the UK government and the World Health Organization for over 10 years . Inequalities in air quality\, the siting of waste sites and clustering of such facilities in poor areas ties into an agenda of environmental jus tice.

The link between Claire and Jon&rsquo\;s work has recently become more explicit with new research sho wing the links between transport for both air quality and plastic polluti on.

The talk will discuss the evid ence for the mechanism of pollution\, what we as individuals can do to he lp the situation and suggest policies for politicians and others to adopt featuring case studies of good practice.
