course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency f
irst aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller\,
low risk working environments.

\n\nWhat you wil

\n\nThe content of this course provides basic life saving
first aid and workplace health and safety regulations\, covering the fol
lowing:
\n\n\n - Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
\n - Assessing an incident
\n - Managing an unresponsive casualt

\n - CPR
\n - Recovery Position
\n - Choking

\n - Wounds and bleeding

\n - Cuts\, grazes and bruises
\n - Minor burns
and scalds

ritten assessment and continuous observation by the trainer.

ndidates need a basic command of English. So whilst we are often able to
provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first
language\, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the
number of people who require assistance\, although we may be able to make
special arrangements if requested in advance. \;

Certification
\n\nSuccessful candidates will receive a&n
bsp\;certificate which is valid for three years. \;

avily subsidised by the Students'\; Union to enable students to attend
at a very low cost. After making a booking\, if you no longer wish to at
tend then please cancel your place by 4pm the day prior to the course. Ca
ncellations after this time will mean that you will be charged for the fu
ll cost of the course
