kshop will have practical\, fun exercises to help think like a software t
ester\, as well as advice on how students can develop careers as testers
and will be interesting to students regardless of their degree. This talk
/workshop is for any student (including first-year students\, second-year
students\, final-year students\, as well as post-graduates) and any lect
urer who may also be interesed about software testing.

\n\nAndy Shaw focused on a career as
a software tester just over 11 years ago\, following a redundancy at a hu
ge software giant which turned out to be one of the best things that has
happened to him. \; Since then he has not looked back\, enjoys being
creative with testing and questioning the status quo\, currently working
at LOXAM group.
\n
\nAndy has also been delivering talks both o
nline and in person on a variety of subjects\, including software testing
\, career development and mental health in tech. He also actively partici
pates and is involved with the BCS\, as the editor of th
e online testing magazine "\;The Tester"\; (the official magazine
of the BCS Specialist Interest in Software Testing specialist group)\, a
s well as the Diversity and Inclusion Officer of the South Yorkshire BCS
branch.

\nOutside of his career\, tech and the BCS\, Andy en
joyed practising martial arts\, and is an assistant instructor in Karate\
, and is also passionate about mental health awareness.
