Your Vote Matters | Local Elections

The local elections are the happening May 2nd 2019. As the representatives for students of Staffordshire University, we want a City Councilt hat considers the needs of students and pro-actively engages with the Students' Union.

We collected your feedback via Social Media to create a Student Manifesto and gave Council elections candidates a deadline to respond with their #PledgeForStaffs - a promise to work towards the 8 aims we established as a Students' Union.

"As the representative body of students at Staffordshire University, we want a City Council that considers the needs of students and pro-actively engages with the Students’ Union. As such, we’ve been asking students about the issues that matter to them.

We want Stoke-on-Trent to be:
  • A Healthy City;
  • A Connected City;
  • An Educated City;
  • A Green and Clean City;
  • An Active and Cultured City;
  • A City with homes fit for all;
  • A Family-Friendly City;
  • A Safe City.
The City Council is at the heart of this and, if you are elected in May, you will be too.

If you are willing to stand up for the issues that matter to students, please sign your name on the attached sign, take a picture, and send it to us at studentvoice@staffs.ac.uk, with a subject line of Pledge For Staffs, by 3pm on Wednesday 1 May 2019"
