New Officers

Moving to University can be a daunting prospect, but it's something that a lot of people have to deal with year in, year out. Our Officer Team have all moved to University at some point in the last few years, so they know exactly what's going on in your head. Here are their top tips for you, to help you get to grips with the new experience:

 

 

Darren:

- Do some research on what to bring, the local area and the University. 

- Arrive with an open mind. People come to Staffs from so many different backgrounds. 

- If you're ever struggling, come and see us at the Students' Union!

 

 

Sam:

- Join as many clubs and socities as you can. Get stuck in - it's a great way to meet people.

- Learn how to cook.

- Be engaged with Union activities. Go to forums. Get your name out there!

 

Swetha:

- Plan ahead. Plan for tomorrow as well as living for today.

- Be resilient. Things will knock you down, but you'll get back up.

- Put yourself out of your comfort zone. It's how you move forward.

Tash:

- Don't be afraid to ask questions, in any situation.

- Be yourself.
