The Scarlettes brand new hip hop dance team took home a 1st place trophy and a Grand Champions National title for Staffordshire University!
Since starting in September the Staffordshire Scarlettes have taken on 50 athletes, making us one of the biggest sports teams at the University.
This meant that we took 6 teams to 'Legacy Cheer and Dance Dream Extreme' at Birmingham Arena for University Nationals.
Our committee and coaches worked hard all year round to choreograph routines for stunt, dance and cheer.
To ensure all our athletes were hitting the floor with zero deductions and perfecting the last 6 months of intense practice.
This was reflected in our winnings...
For our brand new hip hop dance team shockwaves we took home a 1st place trophy and a Grand Champions National title for Staffordshire University.
Our placing ;
Level 1 Squad came 2nd in their division.
Level 1 stunt group came 2nd
Level 2 stunt group came 6th
Level 3 stunt group came 3rd
Level 2 squad came 6th.
We placed in every division we took part in competing with teams from all over the UK and brought home a national title overall.
The score sheets which determined our placings were the best we have had in the past 4 years. Some with scores of 90/100.
This was a big achievement to the time effort and dedication of our athletes all year.
Special thanks to Danny Walker in the Students' Union for continuously sorting out all our cancelled training times and believing in us.
