Drink Carefully - Drink Spiking

We all like going out with our friends, to ensure you have a really good time it's important you look after yourself, this means not only being sensible with the amount you drink but also keeping an eye on your drinks to avoid it being spiked.

There are some simple measures you can take to ensure you keep your drink, and yourself safe:

* Don't accept open drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) from others who you do not know or do not trust.

* When in bars or clubs always get your drink directly from the bartender and do not take your eyes off the bartender or your order.

* Never leave your drink unattended or turn your back on your table.

* Do not drink from open beverage sources like punch bowls, pitchers or tubs.

Obviously these words of advice should be applied with a degree of common sense. If you are at a small party with a group of friends you know and trust, there will be less need to be cautious. But if you are out and about on the town or at a house party full of strangers, then be on your guard.
