The Ember Lounge is Staffordshire University Students' Union second Stoke Venue.  Found at the centre of the College Road Campus directly below the Students' Union Offices.   Winner of Best Late Night Venue Midlands and Wales and a Best Bar None award, the Ember Lounge offers something for everybody; whether it's an early morning espresso to get you ready for the day, a great value quality lunch or a night of cocktails and entertainment, we aim to deliver. 

2010/11 - Welcoming Students Old and New!

After the major refit of Summer 2009, the Ember Lounge has been able to accomodate even more students, as well as providing an improved food service.  This summer we've made some more developments to the menu, with the introduction of new items - as well as keeping the firm favourites in place!  We hope to provide you with an "Ultimate" dining experience from morning to night. 
 

This year sees us working to develop the night-time experience too, offering staffs studnts a real choice all week long.

Monday nights remain our extraordinariyl popular BOGOF! night.  From 7pm, you can buy any two of our great burger meals and only pay for one!

There's a change afoot for Tuesday nights though.  Comedy Club has moved to a new Tuesday night home, and will be happening every fortnight!  For a great experience at only £3.50 advance per ticket (£4.50 On the Door), you and you friends get to watch at least 2 hilarious stand-ups, along with our regular compere.  Many of the acts we had in the past, in association with Comedy Central, have gone on to be world famous, so you're sure of quality every time!

On alternate Tuesdays, it's the most popular Karaoke night for miles around.  DJ Sherz gets the best (and worst!) of Staffs' talent up and belting out classics old and new.  Whether you want to show of your skills in front of hundreds, or simply sit back and laugh as your mates make fools of themselves, there really is no better alternative place to be on a Tuesday.

Wednesday night still bring Early Doors.  From 7pm until 9.30pm you can buy tickets to Gobble (the club night at LRV), at their advance price.  The premierstudent night in Ember Lounge's fellow Stoke venue is always packed, and the best place to start your night is here at Ember Lounge.  (Tickets can sell-out, and we advise you arrive early to avoid dissapointment.  Also, due to popular demand, we will be introducing our Early Doors offer on a Friday for advance prices on Super Friday!

The premier Beer and Balti offer, Curry Club, still takes place every Thursday from 7pm.  For just £4.95 you can get a chicken or vegetable balti, plus rice and nan bread PLUS a pint of your choice (offer limited to selected lines) all included!  Also available are extras to buy if you wish. (Baltis available whilst stock lasts).

Every weekend (and through the week too), we'll be showing big screen sport, with not just one but two big screens!  We've a full sports package and the largest screen in town!  Always popular, you can be sure of a great atmosphere every time.  One word of warning though - be sure to get here early as big games often hit capacity!

To finish your weekend, the Quiz has moved to Ember Lounge every Sunday night.  Gather your mates together and test your brains, for the chance to win great prizes every week!

Coffee
 

All of our coffee, tea, chocolate and sugar is fairtrade and has been since September 2007.  What's more, our prices are more than competitive, and there's a great range to choose from.  As well as simple americanos and a choice of teas, we offer our ever popular hot chocolate with cream and either marshmallows or a flake (or spoil yourself with both!).  What's more, we also offer alternatives such as decaffinated coffee, soya milk, flavoured syrups and sweeteners.  So pop in for a boost any time from 9am until 10pm, relax in the venue or grab one to take away.
