The Ember Lounge is Staffordshire University Students' Union second Stoke Venue.  Found at the centre of the College Road Campus directly below the Students' Union Offices.   Winner of Best Late Night Venue Midlands and Wales and a Best Bar None award, the Ember Lounge offers something for everybody; whether it's an early morning espresso to get you ready for the day, a great value quality lunch or a night of cocktails and entertainment, we aim to deliver. 

2009/10 brings you a new improved experience;

The summer has seen the Students' Union busy implementing some massive changes to the Ember Lounge.  We've been working hard to give Staffs Students an even better venue with an extensive project to upgrade the outlet.  One of the biggest things returning students will notice when you arrive is that we've expanded the venue with an extra seating area - so there should be plenty of places to sit even during the busiest times of day!  We've undergone a major facelift to the bar too, as well as new furnishings and decor.  Behind the scenes there have been some changes too; a lot of the operational aspects have changed - with a brand new kitchen with a size much more capable of matching the level of demand for food that has developed over the last number of years.  A second big screen has been installed for extra popular matches, and the menu has been updated running late into the evening. 
We really hope you're happy with the changes we've made!

But don't worry; we've kept lots of things that make you love Ember Lounge too - Karaoke is still happening every other Tuesday - alternating with our credible retro night, '89, which this year sees the introduction of a new DJ, SweetJayne

Other regular DJ slots are still in place, with your chance to sign up to DJ Trials at the start of term and earn yourself your very own slot playing the venue.  For more information, check out the venues stall at the Freshers' Fair on Tuesday 22nd Sept at LRV or ask one of your staff at the Ember Lounge bar.

Thursday Curry Club continues at the same amazing price (£3.95 for a chicken or vegetable curry with rice, nan bread AND a pint!) as last year.  Monday brings B.O.G.O.F (Buy One Get One Free, in case you're wondering) on our Burger selection from 7pm; buy any two burger meals and get the cheapest free!  Plus there'll be great drinks offers on.

The Comedy Club is still bringing the house down once a term, on Thursday nights at great value - buy your tickets online to make sure you don't miss out - plus save a pound in advance.  Gobble tickets are still available from 7pm - 9.30pm from the bar on Wednesday nights at the advance ticket price but availability is limited, so make sure you get yourself here early!  Just to make it even more worth your while, we'll match all Gobble offers during that time here at Ember (£1.50 on selected pints and bottles of VK, Double Vodka & Relentless just £2 and vodka shots £1)

Coffee
 

All of our coffee, tea, chocolate and sugar is fairtrade and has been since September 2007.  What's more, our prices are more than competitive, and there's a great range to choose from.  As well as simple americanos and a choice of teas, we offer our ever popular hot chocolate with cream and either marshmallows or a flake (or spoil yourself with both!).  What's more, we also offer alternatives such as decaffinated coffee, soya milk, flavoured syrups and sweeteners.  So pop in for a boost any time from 9am until 10pm, relax in the venue or grab one to take away.
