Vice President Dayo Odubonojo tells us how he adapted to life away from home.

When I got accepted to Staffordshire University, I was very excited to come to an area I have never seen before. It was cold and the winds were twice as strong up North, but either way I was ready to take on the new challenge.
Moving in was really beneficial. The hall warden (Gary Richardson) helped us move in and settle in very quickly, even though I met new people I still did not feel at home. I made up my mind I was going to continue with my passion of sports and sign up for the basketball team, this is when the fun started!!!
I met long term friends by doing this and got more involved socially. This improved my student experience and helped me not think about home too much. After I finished all the food my mum packed for me, I became a loyal customer to the Union's services such as Ember Lounge, this was a life saver tbh (until I learnt how to cook).
