officer team 2015/16

Yesterday the Officer Team met to agree on the main campaigns for students that they’ll be leading on.

Campaigns are all about making changes for students or raising awareness and providing information around the topics that we know matter to you.

This list gives the team a great starting point, but they’re always open to your suggestions throughout the year as to what else they can campaign around.

Change Campaigns

Internet in halls – increasing the speed and improving the connection.

Security on campus – safe walkways, safe routes, security patrols, lighting and police presence.

Access to resources and facilities - making specialist labs and equipment accessible for longer hours using access control devices or other appropriate measures.

Accessible lecture theatres - have at least one lecture theatre set up to accommodate disabled students on the platform at the front if they are required to present.

Hidden course costs – being more transparent about additional course costs e.g. equipment, art materials or books.

Work experience / placement opportunities – promoting the opportunities available to help students maximise their potential.
