Students and staff are invited to submit a poem on the theme of Inspiring Change. 
 
Think about women who have inspired and influenced you and it could be your mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, neighbour, sister, wife, teacher or an historical figure, writer, musician, artist or scientist. You choose!  

The word limit is no more than 150 words. Please send your entries to: Beverley.Maynard@staffs.ac.uk or post in our Poetry Box found in Thompson Library. The deadline for entry is Tuesday 18 March. 
 
The winner in each category will receive a book token for £20. All entrants will have the opportunity to have their poem published in our Inspiring Change Collection 2014.

She gave life, she is a wife, She is a mother and she is a friend She is a sister a survivor to the end She is proud and strong. She is raped tortured and abused, Used just for pleasure forget her pain. She can't be hurt much more.. She cried several nights WOMAN IS SHAKTI, who is Strong, Smart, Caring, Surviving, Tolerant and powerful Showed up a brave face and always ready to fight…. She always prays for healthy and long life... Let us wish for a free world Without violence of any kind Let ALL WOMEN be safe LET US PRAY FOR A RAPE-FREE INDIA A new beginning, brings HOPE The Sun raises everyday Finally had a SINGLE voice to make "One - Stop Crisis Centres for Women's Aid”!! Today we continue your battle, All because of you who chose to stand up and hold up With hands together with passion to a new glory With source of strength and a New Sun Rise A very Happy Women’s Day to you!!
