Staffordshire University has launched a General Election campaign in the run up to next year's election using the hashtag #electionexperts and is working in conjunction with the Students’ Union to get more students involved.

The aim of their campaign is to show that our lecturers are some of the brightest political minds in the country, and are experts in key areas that will be reflected in the manifestos of many candidates and parties.

This runs concurrently with the Students’ Union’s General Election campaign that has already had several successes including the introduction of a Polling Booth on Stoke Campus solely for the use of on-campus students, as well as a successful bid to the National Union of Students (NUS) Community Organisation Innovation Fund. This money will fund a joint venture with Keele Students’ Union in order to train the activists of the future within the local community.

NUS is running a national campaign, also with a hashtag - #generationvote – which hopes to get more students to realise the influence they have over the political parties and the policies that affect them now and in the future.

An elections survey that is being hosted by the Students’ Union has been created, and if you would like to get your voice heard, access it here: https://www.staffsunion.com/generalelection/
