This week is Green Week! Emma has been working hard on this year's Green Impact submission, and will be conducting a pre-audit of our environmental impact today, to make sure we keep that Gold Award!
Stafford and Stoke Council have also delivered us some goodies to pass out to students, as well as our wall planners for the rest of this semester, so keep your eyes peeled for Emma and the rest of us with free stuff!
Today will also see our first Student Council after the Christmas break, and it's looking to be a busy one for the Student Councillors who represent you. The Officer Team will be presenting an update on the strategy that is being developed, and recommending a much needed change to the current Officer titles...
On Tuesday, myself and Gary will also be finishing our 'Framework for the Fuiture' document in order for it to be submitted to the University Executive. This document outlines some current student issues, and makes recommendations on how the University and the SU can work together to improve your experience whilst studying at University. Once it's ready, it'll be available online for students view, and all of the recommendations made come from student input, research and events like our Annual Student Forum.
Vic is a very busy boy this week - as well as giving blood, he's down to attend lots of our Active Universities Give It A Go sessions to talk to students and talk to them about getting involved in the Leadership Race to become one of the new Officer Team. Thought about getting into the running? Not thought about it, but fancy a fantastic opportunity? Get in touch with the team and talk to us about it! We're looking for great candidates to do even better than the team have this year.
Kim is finalising our Student-Led Teaching Awards project, which she has been working closely on with the University. This promises to be a fantastic opportunity for students to recognise the hard work of their teaching staff in specific areas; rewarding elements of teaching practice to recognise quality across all faculties.
Another great, busy week; and on a personal note...I'll be away on Thursday and Friday as it is the debut performance of a play I'm in!
All the best,
Jamie
