SCORPIONS CHEERLEADING SQUAD
Staffordshire Scorpions (formerly Staffordshire Scarlettes) is a competitive cheerleading team that love to stunt, tumble and cheer! We are currently the biggest sports team on campus and encourage anyone to join cheerleading as there is NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. We begin with the basics and build our members skils up to a competitive level of cheerleading. Team work is vital to the routines we perform and you will meet lots of people within the Scorpions family! Don't hesistate to join whether you are an experienced cheerleader or a beginner as we have something for everyone!!!!. Try outs will take place for Hip Hop and Competitive Cheer.
WHAT WE DO
Since the original Scarlettes was established in 2003 we have come a long way! We have taken national and regional titles at major competitions. With our rebrand to the Scorpions we currently have a Level 2 competitive cheerleading team and stunt teams, a REIGNING NATIONAL CHAMPION HIP HOP TEAM, a BRAND NEW POM TEAM and a performance squad that supports our sports teams. Its an amazing atmosphere representing the Scorpions on the nationals floor and around campus! This is what makes us proud to be staffs. This year we are continuing to work on our talent and skills especially with developing our new hip hope team with our new choreographer Jake Lyons.
These achievements have only happened from the team working together and helping others when it is needed, by doing this we have got the recognision that we finally deserve. We strive to make sure that everyone is helped in the team and that we are also helping others in the uni and outside of it as well.
Last year we won the : STAFFS UNION MOST CONNECTED AWARD
COMMITTEE OF THE YEAR
UNIVERSITY NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AT LEGACY CHEER AND DANCE
We also are very involved with charitable work, with charity fundraisers for cancer research, Operation christmas child and raising awareness each month.
