We are based in Cadman Studio, Architecture room A024.Discord: https://discord.gg/h6ZPYYt2K3We provide a range of classes, workshops, and events designed to help students develop both their technical and creative skills within architecture. Our sessions cover everything from organising and managing digital work to developing professional presentation techniques. We run practical workshops covering a variety of industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Affinity, Revit, QGIS, and SketchUp. These sessions are designed to be accessible to students of all abilities, whether you are completely new to a programme or looking to improve your existing skills! Alongside digital skills, we also run workshops on physical model-making, helping students explore different materials, construction techniques, and ways of communicating architectural ideas through physical forms. We also focus heavily on architectural presentation and professional development. Our sessions include guidance on creating portfolios, designing A1 presentation boards, organising project work, and effectively presenting architectural ideas. These skills are particularly useful when preparing university submissions, portfolios, competitions, placements, and future job applications. To give students further insight into the industry, we also invite guest speakers to talk about their experiences within architecture and related fields. These talks provide an opportunity to hear directly from professionals, learn about different career paths, gain advice about working in the industry, and ask questions about life beyond university. Most importantly, we want the society to be accessible to everyone. We currently plan to have no sign-up fee for joining, meaning students can get involved without worrying about an additional cost. Whether you want to improve your software skills, learn how to make better models, strengthen your portfolio, meet other architecture students, or simply try something new, there will be opportunities for you to get involved.
