Location: Staffordshire Students' Union, Stoke-on-Trent
Hourly Rate: Starting at £12.75 per hour + 12.7% holiday pay
Hours: Flexible, up to 32 hours per fortnight

As a Union Team Member (Representation), you'll help students shape their university experience by supporting our Student Voice Team. You'll work alongside student representatives, helping them feel informed, connected and confident in their role while encouraging more students to get involved in making positive change.
Whether you're delivering training, supporting events, speaking to students on campus or helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, you'll play an important role in helping students have their voices heard.

Important: We are currently recruiting specifically for students studying within the School of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences (HEPS). This is to ensure appropriate representation across our Student Voice team and support the needs of students within this School.
🌟About the role
This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the Students’ Union, supporting student representation across the University. You could find yourself:

Supporting Course and Subject Representatives with day-to-day queries

Promoting Student Voice through lecture shout-outs, outreach and conversations with students

Helping deliver representative training, networking events and community activities
-
Creating and improving resources for student representatives

Responding to emails and helping keep Student Voice activities organised

Working with Students' Union staff, Officers and the University on projects, campaigns and events

This role combines working directly with students and supporting activity behind the scenes, so you can expect:

Supporting events and activities throughout the academic year

A mix of independent working and teamwork

Administrative tasks alongside face-to-face engagement

Busy periods around elections, representative recruitment and Welcome
We'll support you with training, so you feel confident in every part of the role.

We’re looking for students who are:

Currently studying on a course within the School of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences (HEPS) who are able to demonstrate strong connections with fellow students and staff within your School

Friendly, approachable and confident talking to people

Well organised and able to manage different tasks

Reliable, professional and trustworthy

Comfortable using Microsoft 365 and other digital systems
-
Positive, willing to learn and open to feedback
-
Passionate about creating an inclusive community where all students feel they belong
Experience as a Course Rep, Subject Rep or in customer service, volunteering or community roles is helpful but not essential, we'll support you to develop in the role.
