Staffs Sonic Society hosted a pub quiz to put their fans' knowledge to the test! A range of trivia was covered and many prizes were won.
Proud to Shout About is a platform for students to celebrate their successes in being part of the union. Whether it’s running societies or simply moments that make you proud, this is the space to share them. It’s all about highlighting the effort, dedication, and passion that students put into their university life and giving them the recognition they deserve.
This week saw the debut of a new event for the Staffs Sonic Society, the Sonic Society Pub Quiz!
The committee worked diligently to curate a large selection of questions about all facets of the Blue Blur himself, ranging from his appearances in games, movies and comics to more obscure questions such as identifying sound bytes or guessing the names of niche (and sometimes fake) characters. Participating members were pitted against each other in the Ember Lounge and tried their hands at all our questions, having the opportunity to determine the fate of the quiz itself by deciding what questions they wanted to attempt next. From there, they had to rack their brains in an attempt to answer them all, with questions being as easy as guessing how many Chaos Emeralds there are to ones as devilish as identifying a Sonic billboard in the 2008 Incredible Hulk game (yes, that's actually real).
The winners of the quiz were treated to a range of lovely prizes, from Sonic 2 themed diorama sets to mystery Steam keys. But beyond the scores and the victories, the Sonic Society Pub Quiz marked a hectic, head-scratching yet thoroughly humorous evening, cementing its place as a key event in our Give It A Go period.
