Proud to Shout About is a platform for students to celebrate their successes in being part of the union. During the easter break, the Life Drawing society hosted a 'Draw More Charity Challenge' where memebers of the University could sign up for just £4, all of which was donated to the 'Come Back Alive Foundation' - a charity to help support Ukraine.
As part of the challenge, those taking part were given a sketchbook (and a sticker made by the committee). The challenge? To fill the entire sketchbook within the 2 weeks of Easter Break: Starting on March 30th and ending on April 12th.
For anyone who managed to complete this challenge, they would then also recieve a second "well done" sticker also made by the committee.
This is the second year the society has ran this challenge. This time we ran it for a week longer to make it more accessible to people not familiar with 'Draw More', and to have it run during Easter break to help anyone wanting to participate who may have been busy with any university work or deadlines and not have it clash.
We brought together all different levels and types of artists, even those not on any art related course and loved seeing them giving this a go! Regardless of if you managed to complete the challenge or not, it all went to a good cause.
The society ended up selling a total of 67 Sketchbooks, raising £268 with the left-over books being donated to a local Primary School.
Anyone who joined in with ;Draw More' could their work into our Discord Server, and anyone who posted it to their socials could tag it for us to put up on our story! We loved seeing all the different pieces of art people made, from Studies to Fan Art - with some members taking day trips or hanging out with friends just to 'draw more'!
Weather it was their first time drawing in years, or they have drawn every day we loved seeing everyone get involved and can't wait to do it again.
